The transfer from CarePages blog to BlogSpot is complete

We are settled in at home!!
October 4, 2009
As of the tail end of July 2009, we are back in our home (13.5 months after the fire). You don't even want to know what all we have been through. It has been a nightmarish hell for so long that I have tried to just block it out of my head. We were gifted mattresses, beds, and other furniture items shortly after moving back home when friends and neighbors heard that we were sleeping on air mattresses and pallets. Bless charitable people and their extra furniture b/c, without them, we'd still be sleeping on the floor.
Mason is now 4 years, 7 months old weighing in at 29 pounds. She is currently in an inclusive PreK class in the public school 1/2 day and then back at the same WONDERFUL preschool in the afternoons (ACC Lab School). She is in her 3rd year of dance at Fusion Dance Academy and doing well.
Dax is going to be 3 years old on December 6 and is about 32 pounds, & taller than Mason. He is now in the Romper class at ACC.
Ashton is 7 years old now and in 2nd grade - she is in the Gifted/Talented Program and doing well. She is as skinny as ever. Ashton is a proud member of the Alvin Acquatic Club swim team and seems to have really found a sport she enjoys and is good at. She did dance for 3 years but decided to take a break from it this year...though she'll still tell you that she's going to be a dance teacher when she grows up. ;o)
HEALTH UPDATE: Mason has struggled for years with her breathing and sinus/ear issues. In August of this year, she was finally BIG ENOUGH to have her tonsils and adenoids removed (and 4th set of tubes placed)! She has been much better since then though she's snotty today. Her leg tumor is still there but shrinking and her heart is well. She still has some tiny VSDs but they continue to be "non-issues" according to the cardiologist!
Dax has done surprisingly well since his stay in PICU as an infant. They told us that he would likely have respiratory issues each winter and could be weak long term. I'm here to tell you...that boy is anything but weak. He's as healthy as a horse and growing daily. He's just a thick little boy!
Ashton has been good. She suffered some major kidney and bladder infections shortly after the house fire due to depression (holding her pee and refusing to get off the couch to go potty) but she's good now. Actually, right now I think she may have a cold/flu but, you know what I mean, no serious illness or accidents all year.
I am in the process of moving all my carepage data/updates to a blogspot. I would prefer to keep up with one page only and think that the blog will be easier for me. I am not anticipating anymore medical crisis in our family but do want to update on development and interests so the blog seems like a more appropriate place to do that.
Once I get all the pertinent data from Carepages moved to the blog I will come back and post the link. I would love for you all to continue to follow our family! Thank you all so much for your prayers and support over the years!
